1)ろくじにおき べんきょうしました。

 

N.B. The /ite/-phrase /rokuji-ni oki-te/ modifies the verb phrase /benkyous/. The tense of the /ite/-phrase is the same as that of the modified verb phrase.

 

a)   Let’s go the cafeteria, and have lunch.

b)  May I play tennis, getting up early?

c)  I take a bus to work. (lit., Getting on a bus, I go to work.)

d)  I am sorry for leaving the textbook at home.
